LEADING THE FUTURE
WHO WE ARE
The Vermont Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth organization for all high school students enrolled in all business-related programs. The Vermont FBLA organization prepares emerging student leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and/or further their post-secondary studies in business.
Technology is changing the tasks we do to conduct business and therefore the skills we require to perform our jobs. Communication is now at the speed of our fingertips. Participating career and technical schools and high schools in the Vermont FBLA program offer financial literacy, individual life skills, and teamwork and collaboration projects. Through innovation, creativity, ideation, and engagement these schools address the 21st Century needs.
WHAT WE DO
By partnering with community businesses and individual business leaders the Vermont FBLA organization offers a fall and spring leadership conference. It's an opportunity for Vermont FBLA students to learn real-life experience from other business leaders.
Additionally, our spring conference allows a number of business-related challenges to provide our student members opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Each challenge has a unique focus and a specific set of required tasks that are judged and scored by an independent third party company, including objective tests, role play, and live demonstrations. The live demonstrations include a job interview, an unplanned public speaking topic, or a display of a computer game design, to name a few. Some of the top competitive winners are offered scholarships from sponsoring colleges in New England.
"Values plus principles will get you through adversity and ultimately how you will be remembered."
